Kalispell Web Design: Flathead Valley

Before we even start you may have some questions...

As you begin to think about a website whether it's new or your just updating your current site there are a lot of things to think about. Here is just a few to get you started...

Q: Why do you need a website?
A:

Maybe you don't! Not every business needs one, but thats not something anyone can decide for you. We've looked around to help you get the best anwers we can to help you make this decision.

  • To Promote and Sell Your Products, Services and/or Ideas
    - There are people out there trying to find what you are selling...and can't find you!
  • Promote Your Organization
    - People buy from people. A website is a fantastic tool to promote an organization and build trust. A well-developed website can convey trust and credibility, making people to buy from you, or support you.
  • Offer Service 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year
  • Improve Brand Recognition
    - I don't have to describe what a Coke can looks like...you already know. Your brand can help you be identified at a glance and having everything branded will make you look even more professional.
  • Reach A Local Market
    - Google is able to tell where you are when you perform a search helping bring you more local results. But more often people will include a city name in their searches. Rather than searching for "Real Estate for Sale" many searches are performed on "Kalispell Real Estate".
  • Reach A Regional Market
    - Reach out to a wider geographical area virtually overnight!
  • Solicit Feedback From Customers
    - A contact form on a website can provide you with a lot of valuable information from people.
  • Update Information Quickly
    - Catalogues, flyers, posters take time to change and get out to your customers, even then they may continue to circulate for years. But by having your information online it can be updated and sent out to everyone at the same time!
  • A Sales Tool Outside The Office
    - Anyone who works away from the office can be kept informed by your website. Find new prices easily, keep up on current news and more.
  • Improve Communication
    - Flyers and Brochures are great to communicate a few lines of information, but a website can guide your customers through page after page of information.
  • Share Information
    - People often use Internet to try and find a quick answer to simple questions. For example, How late are you open? Do you accept credit cards? What's your phone number or email address?
  • Make Life Easier For Your Customers...and Yourself!
    - Whole new industries have emerged because people want to be able to do things themselves - because it is easier. Look at online banking, or ticket ordering.
  • Email Address Forever
    - Using a professional email address is a good way to promote your website, because people will guess your website based on the email address. You'll have that email address for as long as you keep the website. No more sending of emails to your contacts, stating that "you change email addresses again; can you please update your address book?"
  • Enhance Marketing Effectiveness
    - Mentioning a website in a radio, TV or print ad may just be the thing that wins people over - especially if the online experience feels similar to the offline communication.
  • People Expect It
    - Not having a web presence of some kind may make your business suspicious to some prospects. It is silly but true: a website will enhance perceived professionalism.

Q: What kind of website do you need?
A:

There are 2 basic kinds of websites, Static and Dynamic.

Static Sites:

  • Sometimes called Brochure Sites or Classic Sites
  • These sites don't have stores or ways for your customers to purchase products online
  • Static sites do not typically have prices (as prices may change more often than the website)
  • Although the website owner may make updates periodically, it is a manual process to edit the text, photos and other content and may require basic website design skills and software

Dynamic Sites:

  • Wikipedia says: A dynamic website is one that changes or customizes itself frequently and automatically, based on certain criteria.

  • Dynamic sites often have online stores, areas for users to login to an account, or post messages to forums or blogs.
Q: What is your budget?
A:

This calculation is from the Web Marketing for dummies:

  • Start by Determine your desired annual gross revenue (DR), then calculate your average sales value (ASV), this will help you get your required sales per day (SPY): DR/ASV=SPY. This should let you know what kind of budget you can afford.
Q: What goals do you have for your website?
A:

Lets answer that question with a few questions:

  • What do you expect a website to do for you?
  • If you have a current website, how would a re-design boost your statistics?
Q: What kind of time frame are you working with?
A:

Are you in a hurry to get this site out in 30 days or less? Or are you willing to spend 3-6 months creating your online presence?

Q: What kind of content do you have to put on a website?
A: Perhaps you have brochures, flyers, mini-catalogues or other print media you want to have online, but have you started thinking about what else will go on your website? Educational Information, a forum for users to post comments/questions to? What is it you want to tell your customers?

Q: Do you have any kind of media (audio, video, pictures, etc) to put on a website?
A:

Have you been collecting pictures for years? or are you going to start from scratch with sites like istockphoto.com

Q: What level of experience do you have with websites?
A:

No matter what skill level you're at we can help you understand the process step by step!

  • Many people may be shocked to find out that there are still those who are computer illiterate, and some of them by choice!
  • Have you just started surfing?
  • Maybe you've been surfing for years and know your way around.
  • Perhaps you have done a little dabling in web design yourself
